The 223km long Larapinta Trail is one of the planet’s most spectacular multi-day hiking experiences. Situated in the heart of Central Australia, the trail takes you along the ranges of Tjoritja/West MacDonnell National Park. It is also one of Australia’s newest trails and is quickly emerging as one of the most popular trails in Australia and the world, having just been ranked as one of the planet’s top 20 treks.
About the Trail
The walk consists of 12 sections and can be completed from East to West or vice versa. There are 34 official campsites along the trail as well as a number of vehicle entry points and four official food storage locations (Ormiston Gorge, Serpentine Gorge, Ellery Creek South and Standley Chasm).
